USCSS Lochmark :

 
 

The USCSS Lochmark is a map Based off of the Nostromo Ship from the first Alien movie, I have a deep personal love for the Alien franchise and I decided to dip my toes into the Unreal Tournament platform, it was a great experience and was good opener to the level design tools for the unreal engine.

This map is a symmetrical map, and takes some design queues from many of the default maps, some of the major things I wanted to include were mainly meant to help convey the locations of weapons and the flags. A centre lane in which all players can see the flag is helpful for conveying the main objective, a rocket launcher is placed on a raised plinth in the direct centre of the map, It is prominent and all players can see when it is taken which makes this area hotly contested. The centre lane is flanked on either side by two other lanes, both contain significant scenes from the movie and health packs to draw players from the centre lane.The LDD I produced for this map outlines the main design principles, the asset pack I wish to use for the art pass and the inspiration I had while working on this project, it can be found below.
